Mr Lee said: "In Singapore, I'm worried about what the people think of me. As long as the people understand that what I am doing is in their best interests and there is no alternative that is better than what, not just me but my successors, are offering, we are not doing too badly. "The final test is not whether you are rated by Amnesty International or Human Rights International, but the satisfaction of the people you are governing towards you and what you have delivered." -

Life in Singapore .... my son said he hated the Singapore school. The teacher would ask the class to raise up their hands to give an answer but would choose the top 3 of the class, without fail!

He thinks it is more fun here (in Australia) where every student can give their answers, even talk nonsense, he says:)

My son is ten.

To be able to communicate and express a view is a basic right of a democracy, and in my son's example, is an essential need for a human being. Unless, you are those that has a whip over your head and needs to be constantly flogged.

Well, the reason why some people wrote such stuff is to highlight the differences betweeen our stifled minds and the creative foreigners.
MAybe the govt is trying to make us unique in some way, maybe we want to be special in some way and not be labelled as a copycat.
Is it because of this that S'pore is the top leading countries?
I certainly beg to differ, we, S'poreans are depending on the Govt to do Everything for US, citizens.
WE are in a prison, i daresay , trapped in a boundary, not physically but our minds are in sucha way that it is unable to escape anymore. WE are controlled by the upper powers and when they want us to move to the left, we move, we cannot retailiate, REBEL and die like this rest.
We have turned into dogs. We may be multi cultural, multiracial, but are prisoners all the same, oh come on.
As we get more educated, we realise everything, we see things from a more professional level and are gradually realising we are being controlled, too dependent on the jail guards. Fugitives, we call ourselves.
YES, some may argue that the guards are giving us more leeway to do whatevever we would want to do. podcasts are still being banned, these are the factors that will bring PAP down, down to hell, they got to continue banning them, lest the media shoots them down.
Are we free yet?
We will never be.
"There was no hiding from the brutes. They watch, they track and they know. Soon, it was my turn to get into the smaller cage, the glorified resting place of all stray kittens."

My pjc PSG, MR YEO touched on a good point a few weeks back,
HOW do singaporeans children draw a fACE?

--two dots, and a smiley face.

HOW do foreigners draw a fACE?

-- two eyes, one big, one small, blonde hair with a spiky centre, scars on the face, and a mouth with a tooth missing, and if u are lucky, u see a pirate eye on the face.

HOW do s'poreans draw a house,

using a triangle, u make it ur roof, and a square, u constuct ur main body of the house, 2 windows and a rectangular door with a circle as a knob.

yeS?

HOW, do others draw a house.

they draw a 2 storey building, with a lift in it, a chimney, a roof with tiles on it,
they have an antenna kinda thingy on the other side of the roof, a lightning rod on it, and a balcony, and standing beside their house is a mailbox,
with a family of five and their pet dog, OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.

hard to express these differences in words, maybe a speech says more words =D

------------------------

WHY do people still critisize the govt when s'pore is the leading countries, the most crime free country, a multi-racial, multi cultural, and choice to ur preferred religion.

SUCH FREEDOM ARE often bounded ib some way or another, we are never free.
We have a big space to roam around but ultimately, we are still trapped in this boundary we call jail.

"He dwells on the realms of insanity, but he doesn't truly know what it is to be insane. To have the never ending circle of saness and monotony surrounding one's soul is insane.

I, myself, have gone past the point of insanity and have entered back into the point of reality. Reality, a word that can have only negative connotations to it even in the most positive of cases and scenarios. Yes, I have gone past dementia and have settled here in the corruption of the real world.

It both saddens and disgust me that some people's lives are so boring that they have to make up stories and possibly ruin other's lives. Hate can only cause destruction. Nothing good can come of it. Are people who start rumours bored, scared, jealous or just in need of a diversion? And what about the people who spread the rumours? These folks are just as bad. They don't know the truth, but instead of seeking it out, they just propagate the lies. It's just plain sad. There is no other way to put it. It's just SAD!
