Mr Lee said: "In Singapore, I'm worried about what the people think of me. As long as the people understand that what I am doing is in their best interests and there is no alternative that is better than what, not just me but my successors, are offering, we are not doing too badly. "The final test is not whether you are rated by Amnesty International or Human Rights International, but the satisfaction of the people you are governing towards you and what you have delivered." -

hm, juz an interesting encounter after lamsoon this evening,
we went home in a taxi, and 3 taxis did stop , not for us, but for other people behind us, which is ...not very correct.
imagine, u are in a queue , then the cashiers refuse to accept ur purchase and proceeded to customers behind.

what will you feel?
WTF??!?! omFG?!? FARK YOU.

more or less, i am right . right?

that was what happened.

then finally, i taxi picked us up.
that taxi driver was very polite. he was honest about not knowing the way to bukit panjang from CCK, nvm, we can guide him around, everytime we said a direction,

for eg, turn left.
he will say THANKS
and since he doesnt knwo the way, he said thanks many many times.
it sounded awkward but i felt the sincerity and ...anxiety as he doesnt know the route to our houses.
haha
knida cute.

i was the last to alight and when i was alone, he kept saying sorry, apologising that he donno the route around BP.
i had to say NVM.
HOWEVER, if he did know the route around and is THAT polite...
i would tip him and even praise him
but a pity, i din.

quite a polite driver i must say ,
i could hear his deep breathing beside him as he is VERY nervous about us guiding him .
i wondered why he was nervous.
maybe he is new. MAYBE..

------------------------------------

many argue that learning english is adversely affected when they study a 2nd language in school or speak a dialect at home. MANY s'poreans speak a language that isnt chinese or english.
it's actually , as a matter of fact, a mixture!!
like singlish, this new language that is already adpated by the unqiue people insingapore, is called, CHINGLISH.

lousy name, but it is true! na ge principal shi yige very good man. TA solve le wo de daughter de problems loh

even artistes, the SUPPOSEDLY GREAT influence and role models, are actually speaking OUR language as fluent as u can think of,
it has become part of our daily communication methoDS!
how creative,
HOW unique
but i am not proud of it.
WHY?
and WHY cant u speak perfect mandarin or english?
i am not very sure,
TRY it!
they just stare at you as if u are an alien from some other galaxy.
I believe everyone can learn to speak properly in any language. ALL it takes is a humble realisation of one's determination to learn IN THE RIGHT ENVIORNMENT.
how can you change for the better when ur teachers actually speaks like that too??
special?
THINK AGAIN
