Mr Lee said: "In Singapore, I'm worried about what the people think of me. As long as the people understand that what I am doing is in their best interests and there is no alternative that is better than what, not just me but my successors, are offering, we are not doing too badly. "The final test is not whether you are rated by Amnesty International or Human Rights International, but the satisfaction of the people you are governing towards you and what you have delivered." -

it looks like our humourous brown is not in a favourable position to attract readers at this point of time.
pro-singaporeans are shooting their head off to get him behind bars.

"mr brown's views on all these issues distort the truth. They are polemics dressed up as analysis, blaming the Government for all that he is unhappy with. He offers no alternatives or solutions. His piece is calculated to encourage cynicism and despondency, which can only make things worse, not better, for those he professes to sympathise with."

WELL, i feel that he is a witty man. someone i wanted to learn from in the form of sacarsm hidden in humour. There are many hidden opinions he wanted to voice out in the form of a radio deejay .
VERy innovative.
but now, he has lost the freedom to express his dislike for singapore actions and i felt it's a loss to singapore as less people will be brave enough to publish their displeasement in public any longer.

my no. 1 idol , gayle seems to be under probation now, after some research but i hope my disappointment in singapore officials would not increase with the SILENCING, I SHLD SAY, of my idol.

"mr brown is entitled to his views. But opinions which are widely circulated in a regular column in a serious newspaper should meet higher standards. Instead of a diatribe mr brown should offer constructive criticism and alternatives. And he should come out from behind his pseudonym to defend his views openly."

"defend his views openly"
the word openly, is juz a truse.
i would spit on the flooor and say BULLshit.
how many people survived public slander?
SDP died, next will be mr brown.

GIVE singapore more time , and all critics will disappear, for fear they will be detained.

and by my past knowledge, countries like this who uses censorship to let people know EVERYThign they do is for our own good,
FOReg, increase in taxi fares, oil prices,
all these countries, will FALL after reigning supreme.

like venice,
like swiss,
like many other countries.
they will FALL.

CRITICs is a step to improvement and enlightenment of how the people feel.
of course, if there are excess critics, rebels appear and kill the govt.
the big responsibilty to control the critics lvl is much more than i can imagine.
HOWEVER, if u eliminate all kinds of media to express views that are deemed negative, SINGAPORE WILL FALL, like a ripe durian.

trust grant.

pardon me, the indian minister had juz made a personal attack on a mere citizen with an autistic child.
DEFEND FREEDOM OF SPEECH !
WE NEED MR BROWN TO HELP US EXPRESS OURVIEWS.
PLEASE DUN TAJE HIS TALENT AWAY.
PLEASE..

I read with utter disappointment at the response from MICA. From what I see, Mr Brown is just a common family man and citizen like anyone of us. He is writing in a column called 'Voices', isn't it? He is merely voicing the sentiments of many Singaporeans. Why is the government bashing him, a citizen who is providing feedback? Does that mean we are not allowed to feedback our unhappiness but only the 'good' things of the government?
