Mr Lee said: "In Singapore, I'm worried about what the people think of me. As long as the people understand that what I am doing is in their best interests and there is no alternative that is better than what, not just me but my successors, are offering, we are not doing too badly. "The final test is not whether you are rated by Amnesty International or Human Rights International, but the satisfaction of the people you are governing towards you and what you have delivered." -

There is a difference in what moulds you -your secondary school. Indeed, as you live, you carry the burden of maintaing or improving your school's reputation, I've come across friends from various schools.

ACS people just give you this fixed impression of wealth and raging boy-boy hormones. They think they own the world. Wait till they crawl out of their cot and wake up their ideas.
Nope, they did not cross my path, i am merely, commenting.

Infamous schools do potray a bad image for the students, their actions are never too bad as long as they have their uniform on. E.g,

what's wrong with a Teck Whye Secondary student with his uniform tucked out with a cigarette on their ears? Contrast the same scenario with a BPGHS student(bukit panjang govt high). That action would be utterly undesirable.
"Every student is an icon for his school"

You walk into a library and 4 TWSS students took up the last study table ahead of you.
You will say,"they come to library for what sia,for free aircon ar!"
and you STARE at them, grumbling at how they are wasting the library's resources.

4 Raffles students did the same in another library,
You say," aiyoh, everyone come library so early to study , just my luck!"

What am i trying to imply?
Yup, my sister got back her results slip for mid year exams. Failed 3.
From Bukit View Secondary School

At her age, i passed only one, meaning, i failed 7.
I am from Bukit Panjang Govt. High School.

Parent's reactions:

To sis, she got a huge scolding, kena banned for Japan Trip organised by school which we paid for.(no refund)

To me, nothing happened, parents told me to try harder for prelims which i failed all
ALL.

the reason being,

As my school (BPGHS) is of a higher standard than BVSS, the papers are naturally harder, so it's alright to fail.
BVSS, Exams should be relatively easier and is of no kick compared to my papers.
Thus, no room for failures.

I was guilty. She did better than me, numeriacally, ceteris paribus, not considering the quality on the paper we sat for.

Are Students the mascot of the SCHOOL?
